Homenaje a Posada : linocut, 1956.

Shows Jose Guadalupe Posada in his print shop in 1902, looking out the window at armed horsemen beating peasants in the street. Inside the shop one of the printers holds a broadside reading, "no habra leva, ese pretexto, conque los actuales caciques arrancan de su hogar a los hombres a quienes odian."

Born in poverty in 1852, Jose Guadalupe Posada (b. February 31, 1853-d. January 20, 1913) became the "Printmaker to the Mexican People," an influence on future Mexican artists such as Orozco and Rivera, and is often compared to such icons as Goya and Daumier.
